It's tough to put up with his accent for an entire race weekend. Aussies sound like prison versions of Brits. Oh wait...

Leigh Diffey is light years better than Bob Varsha. Hobbs and Matchett are good, glad they are being kept.

The guys on SKY in the UK are probably the best around. Catch a race online on one of the streaming sites and check them out.

Hopefully Varsha jumps ship after next year (last year of his contract with Fox). As it stands, Leigh Diffey is taking his place.

The cable sports channel Speed will no longer air Formula One races after this season, ending a 17-year partnership.

Looks like NBC has it now. Sure hope they keep the announcing team together.

Agreed, once they get past the first year they will find they can make more money by renting it out without all the bells and whistles to independent orgs who provide all their own crap. Sadly, I haven't seen anything yet about motorcycle track days which is the only way I will be able to do it for a few more years.

Using nitto nt-01's as a base, all in for a weekend with entry, brakes, tires, and gas is $1000 not including towing cost or hotel if needed. If using Hoosiers, its $2100. All that assumes a $300 entry. Figure in that exotic cars tires and brakes cost more than what my race car uses and they could be $4000 for a day and I bet they buy track insurance to protect their car.

This elite program may last a couple years but that price will have to come down at some point. My bet is most of those taken days are practice days for pro teams....

Don't see too many takers for that unless it's a ton of stock brokers with Vipers and exotics.
dafuq? It comes with a ton of stuff that some organizations won't need. I imagine.

Exclusive use of the Circuit of The Americas full Grand Prix road racing course.
Pit access, designated paddock loft access, garage access and track access for an entire day.
Bring your cars and your friends – your group can include up to 24 people.
Fully staffed track, including track manager, driving instructor, timing system, corner workers and emergency workers.
Create your own experience: structured race program with practice, qualifying and race session (timed or open racing) or create your own agenda.
    Catered lunch.
Transportation to track from Austin area hotel.
Concierge service for hotel, dinner reservations, spa and shopping.

I wonder if/how much you could get a "strippper model" for without all the bolded crap.

I attended TMS first event and remember what a disaster it was. COTA and the surrounding cities did such a bang up job on the traffic, parking, etc.

I've been to 4 Grand Prix (Singapore x 2, Malaysia, and COTA) and hope that in future years we will be able to attract better support races (GP2/GP3) and provide a more full on track schedule. The Singapore GP has more of a festival feel to it and I think the US GP can get there with a little more planning effort and completed facilities.

I have been to most of the major road course racing facilities in the US and none hold a candle to this place.

Problem with GP2/3 is shipping costs and the fact that their seasons are generally over by this point. I'd love to see them over here, though, because those fuckers are balls to the wall.
