O don't get me wrong, to save my dads life and still have him around, theres no price tag you can put on a mans life like that, and its well worth it.
But when you hand an already stressed out man a bill that he can not pay, man you should of see his face, he nearly had another heart attack!

So you think we should not perform non-emergent, life-saving medical care on adults that cannot pay? It would be a good answer to overcrowding.

At the time he had the attack, he was between jobs, so he still had his insurance coverage, but nothing else coming in, it was a very stressful time for my family. Thanks for being so considerate.

When we had private insurance ( while I was in college) it was cheaper to tell the doctor's we did not have insurance. Go figure. We had it for emergencies only.

I agree that there are issues with healthcare...especially the cost. The billing side can be aggravating as well. I dont have an answer for what needs to be done to fix it, but this is a capitalist society and everyone wants a piece of the pie.
I do not set my billing or deal with anything on the cost side.

So it's society's fault that he had no income? If he is 58 and still bouncing between jobs, then it's nobody else's fault but his.

He wasnt bouncing, Legacy Homes shut down all of north texas due to nobody being able to buy 350k homes at that time.
Again, jumping conclusions like my dad is a dead beat.

Somebody didn't pay their $5 bill they never got and he had to pay to send it to collections.
