Crown here. It suits my whiskey taste just fine. I drink 1, sometimes 2 handles a week, and usually it's with Coke. If you check out my bottle collection you'll see I've tried all kinds of shit, including several named in this thread and plenty of stuff that costs more than Crown. But I end up going back to it. Every time. After drinking so damn much of it, I figure it's an acquired preference.

Forrest, I tried a fifth of that Pendleton a while back. Not bad. I was a little surprised at the sweetness of it, because I figured that was a big part of your dislike for Crown.

Yes it's cheap shit, but honestly it's not a bad whiskey.

I'm a Makers and Ginger Ale kind of guy, they work pretty good together, it's just hard to find a bar now that carries Ginger Ale, not one that thinks coke/sprite mix is the same thing.

it's a chocolate and vanilla sweetness vs. a raisin sweetness (which Crown has)

BUT, I will admit that my palate has changed... I like Crown now! not my favorite, but my palate changed on me, and I can drink it.

a lot of the bourbons I used to love now taste too sweet to me! LOL

I'm guessing here in another 10yrs or so, I'll be one of those old Scotch douches! LOL
