you might want to do a little research on your own with disregard to what the academy has brainwashed you into believing, let me guess.. your a marine as well?
The FTP was a joke, from everything I read BEFORE I had them done they are legal. The pass all the criteria from 547.325, which may be hard to believe from the picture. I have had them like this for 2 years and never had a problem anywhere. I was a cop in the military and provided the officer the same amount of respect I would have expected. I just don't see where he is getting his info from. They are dark, yes , but they still emit plenty of light and are still reflective from a distance. He can in no way determine that they are not reflective enough at 9:13am and that is BS.
Oh and this was all on the way to the pediatrician for my 4 day old daughters first check up, so I was not breaking any traffic laws!

I got pulled over not to long ago in Coppell for a 3 month past due inspection. I thought for sure I was getting a ticket, but somehow I got out of that one too! So much for looking like an intimidating mexican!
The tail lights on the 02 GT I had were tinted. lol
so much for being a public service, just a fuking vending machine for the court system. you can beat the ticket due to the fact there was no valid cause of action. also because in the civil rights (texas included) you have the right to travel without harassment or interference. a drivers licence by legal definition was created for when cattle "driver's" crossed city/ county/ state lines. they received monies and had to register (get a license) By all rights and legal definition, you do not have to have a drivers license to travel. And state/ city law can not deny your civil rights.
and for those who come back question this, do yourself a favor and read your civil rights, it's in there.
I'm not saying FTP. I'm just saying that's a smarmy cocksucker ticket. I'd fight that shit tooth and nail.
And that's your right to dispute the citation in court. I have no issue with that whatsoever. My issue lies where these guys here fall back into the mob mentality and cry FTP when someone gets a ticket.
Bahaha! Jesus tap tancing christ. Every fucking ticket issued turns into an FTP debate. Don't break the law, regardless of how 'petty', and you wouldn't receive a ticket. End of debate.
If you want to black out the tailights, then, by all means do so. Just don't cry when you get another ticket. As for what you "think" is legal or not, well, then take the citation to court and battle it out there. An internet forum is not going to resolve your issue.
I've got your back! As a state inspector, I wouldn't pass this car.
