True, but you also likely don't realize that I'm in a car 8-12 hours a day, either. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I said I've never seen it, and given the amount of time I'm in a car, what does that tell you?Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

My father has never had one on his vehicles and never gets ticketed. I drove his truck once without a plate, I got stopped. It's called profiling. Don't stop the old guy, but definitely stop the kid.
I had one on my '03 cobra since day one. I let the registration lapse as a test. It was expired for nearly 3 years before I was ticketed.
In summary, the front plate law serves no purpose other than to give LEO's a quick visual cue to stop you. If a possible stop takes a little investigating, they are more likely to move on to an easier target.

I used to get pulled over all the time in my 96 Impala without a LP. I couldn't drive through Rockwall County without a sherriff's deputy stopping to take a look. Never got a ticket for the front plate not being on there. Drove the wife's Jetta for about 85,000 miles and never once got hassled for no plate.
Also had a trooper pull me over to tell me that I had a LP light out. Once he figured out that I wasn't a drunk and I offered to go to the rear and fix the bulb he told me that it wasn't necessary and to have a nice night. Got home and both bulbs were bright as shit.
I understand that there's only a small percentage of shitty cops, but they are the ones that make the headlines and give all LEO's a bad name, maybe if you guys policed yourselves as tight as you did the public you'd weed the bad cops out and clean up your image a bit.G'Day Mate

If you get popped for speeding, and the officer has no means to prove it, then you too will be found not guilty.

I'll check, but there may be an exemption on front LP's on vintage cars. I'll get back soon. Ie: seatbelts on vintage cars.Originally posted by racrguy View PostSelective enforcement is bullshit.
