i must've missed out. the lowest rate i see on their site is 2.49.

It was on their the other week... but after calling them I found out that even with excellent credit.. in order to get the advertised rate you have to meet all these qualifications.. examples: existing member, automatic billing, etc to get the rate discounted to 1.49.

I just went with Penfed... took 5 minutes to apply and had the check 4 days later.

1.99% and they are open til 10:00pm PST every day, even Sundays. They are only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Crazy.


for comparison Tarrant County Credit Union had me at 8.24% for the same loan (I didn't use them)

1.49% at the Tarrant County Credit Union. Only requirements for membership are to live or work in Tarrant County. I got this rate on my recent truck purchase. Just get pre-qualified and go shopping!

You have to put 25$ into a savings acct to be a member of TCCU. I've used them for years, 2 or 3 vehicles, 2 bikes, etc.. always beat the shit out of the rest of the banks.

penfed will do 1.99 on a 48 month loan or 2.49 on a 60-72 month loan. (new or used) i think they have the same requirement, as far as a small amount of money in their account.

Ford Motor Credit tried to give me 5.9%, but I ended up getting 2.04% through Chase.

I think the 2.49% is cutoff at 60 months . Their website shows an option for 72 months when refinancing or buying new but the rate is 3.49 and requires 15% down.

you're right...for some reason, i was thinking that it was the same for the 60 and 72.

did you have to do direct deposit, automatic payment debits, etc, to get that rate? i'm just curious...most banks have all kinds of strange requirements, to get their good rates. i actually have an account with chase, and i didn't think to check with them.

InTouch CU (formerly EDS CU) also has 2.49% for 60 months. 2.24% for 36months or less.
