a lot of people don't comprehend that writing is a huge part of being a "musician"Originally posted by Silverback View PostA lot of people don't give Cobain a lot of credit because of his limited amount of released music.
Cobain was revolutionary at the time IMO

oh absolutely, but at the time, it FELT revolutionary... now it feels like reading a history book, but I'd never heard anything like that at the time.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostShould have pulled a Tupac.

Totally agree. We were coming out of the shit of the late 80's and most of us were hitting our identity stride and feeling pissed off at our parents so the music, mood, life and so on synced up in a way that really was revolutionary - until Hootie had to derail shit.Originally posted by Cooter View Postoh absolutely, but at the time, it FELT revolutionary... now it feels like reading a history book, but I'd never heard anything like that at the time.

I don't buy the "woe is me" rockstar that can't take it, so I'll end it.Originally posted by Cooter View Posta lot of people don't comprehend that writing is a huge part of being a "musician"

The positive that came out of Nirvana's discovery and subsequent demise is Dave Grohl's evolution into the songwriter he has become. I love the Foo Fighters' music. I have this feeling in the back of my mind that if Kurt had lived, we would not have a lot of the great music Grohl has made.
Just my inebriated $0.02.

oh please! we lost great music and a great band only to get the fuckin Foo Fighters! The Foo Figher's suck ass compared to Nirvana. Sure Dave Grohl has his moments and is a cool guy but shit man he went mainstream!Originally posted by 71chevellejohn View PostSure you can Sweetie - obviously you haven't seen this pic:
