Why are we helping every other country in the world

Why am I always seeing car washes and donation drives to send shit to other countries to help them out when we have people right here at home, and I'm not talking some major city, I mean right down the street, that need help. There are tons of kids who need shoes for school, and food for lunches and all kinds of other stuff that kids should have, yet people are raising money to send to fucking Africa so that it can be spent on more guns and bullets.

Who the fuck cares about other countries? I don't see kids in France raising money to help out homeless kids in America. Let the other world leaders lead some shit for a while, while we take care of our own. We've got enough shit on our shoulder to keep us from having to go out and provide for everyone else who doesn't want to help themselves.

why did the us govt just approve $110 million in aid to Somalia THIS WEEK???? the f*ck will that country ever do for us???? Dont get me wrong, I like helping out but when we are strapped like we are, we dont need to be handing out that kinda money to those people.

A buddy's brother is a teacher in some shithole school in South Dallas. The teachers pool their money together to buy toilet paper for the kids because the school doesn't have money for it in the budget.

When I was younger I posed a similar question to my mother regarding some church stuff she was always rounding up donations for. Sometimes it was for the church to buy crap, sometimes it was sending people on mission trips to some 3rd world dump, others it was building churches in said dump. I always thought the money would be better spent on donating to charities, orphanages, meals on wheels, etc. HERE. I guess I'm just dumb like that.

Homeless can still go to a soup kitchen, or a water fountain, or many other places to find shelter...he'll even a bridge is a little shelter. American homeless are often that way by choice.

There are some people who can't even eat every day and would kill to eat our trash.

I hear about people being on foodstamps/welfare and talk about saving for a Las Vegas trip or people who need the basics but opt for an iPhone or some stupid shit they don't need. I am a firm believer on managing money. I also can't stand the thought, smell, or mere hint of someone who can't manage money and complain about financial issues.

I've always asked the same thing about church missions. Why go to Mexico to build houses for a week, when you can put the money raised for travel expenses towards materials and build houses in your own town?
It seems like a better use of the money, you just can't break for a day and go swim with the dolphins.
