BTW, you know I own a towing company... one of my trucks was parked in front of the house. Why didn't you ask me for a tow. How much did they charge you?
Yes sir but I also knew you were busy and when it stalled you said you were with a customer. You were already so helpfull with the parts I really didnt feel comfertable infringing on more of your time. Also figured you wouldnt want to drive 220 miles round trip. I have towing service through Verizon and called them. It only covers the first few miles apparently. Towing was a few hundred. They quoted $200ish. They claim they entered the wrong destination and thought it was 40 miles closer.
So car is back home. Im stinkey and hungry. Its beer time.

+1 and I know it's hard, but having a place to call home is a lot better than selling and having the money, cause it will eventually run out.
I need to sell the place anyway to get hernia surgery and open my own service shop. Thats been my goal the last several months. I like working on cars, I am good at it, have the tools and a friend that wants to go in with me and hes freshly ASE certified (again) so we are gonna lease a nice little two or three bay space in Waco and give it a go!

Don't hate GM being they had nothing to do with the failure of the car. The 3800 is one of the longest lasting GM motors out there if it is properly taken care of or at least half ass taken care of. Here is just a guess on why the motor started knocking...PCM was pulling 6* of KR which was cutting the timing, buddy tuned car down to 1* of KR which allowed lost timing before to stay now allowing the car to make more power, this power took whatever was on the verge of going out take a dump. The failure probally would have eventually happened but would have taken longer....Or could have been something the PO already knew about and that is why he sold the car....At this point it really doesnt matter as the car is knocking....
My suggesting would be to pick up a cheap, lower mileage 3800 NA motor and do a top swap on it. That is if you can't find a good deal on an L-67 locally for cheap. All the motors I have bought have been local and found them for $450 and less.
If you where closer I would give you a hand as I know the 3800 pretty well. I will keep an eye out for some cheap motors.....
Yeah I am waiting on Kyle to call me back. We may have worked something out but not sure yet. If it works out then I will leave for Dallas after he calls and get his other GS up and running for a motor swap.

So thats not happening. On to plan B. Gonna rev it till it windows the block then set it on fire after I shoot it. I need to get some marshmellows for the fire. LOL!!

Understood, man wish it wasn't so far away, I would love a lot smaller house payment and the land.
But we're trying to get my dad to move here and this may be good for him. Can you pm me pics and specifics please? Also internet provider, city water or well, etc.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Damn bro. Hope life turns around for you. I wish it was about a year later. My plan would be to be able to pick up a property like yours for an investment property. Good luck with everything.

So the car ran perfectly for 12 years but minutes after being tuned, blew up? Yeah, definitely GM's fault.
Yup, GMs fault. Was just checking the oil and can see the slightest hint it got water in it. Lower intake gasket is stock or the stock design. What ya wanna bet I pull the blower and see a bad lower gasket?
Fact of the matter is GM builds many chitty cars. Yes the LS engines are nice and the new Vetts are bad arse but GM plastics always sucked, cant make a working clutch for Vetts, Dexcool was a joke, Northstar motors are the biggest piles, 3.1 and 2.8 were some of the worst motors ever made.
Is the 3.8 SC engine a good one? Well for the most part. Address the intake gaskets and the crappy oil pump and they will handle a lot of abuse. But as I learned, for such a cheap part you wouldnt even think about in any other car its enough to kill the motor on these cars.
