It's cool though, at least I've got driveway space and don't have to squeeze my bike by two cars anymore!
I don't have a horse in this race, but I kinda had that impression when I read it.

Yes sold it for $4k & picked up a Hatch. Pics in garage section under (Mach 1 Scoop on 4inch Cowl Hood)

I liked the GTP & prolly will get another 3.8 SC motor. But im thinking of going with a Buick GS instead for a softer ride!

    I have issues. Meh.
Yes the PCM is custom Tuned to run a 3.4 Pulley & shifts points have all been changed.

You can have it all for $100, I paid $240 for it.

I wish I hadnt reminded myself that I like the SC400. There is an uber clean one thats at the limits of my funds. Still wanna call the guy and see if I can get him down some on price. Car looks like it was well loved. No blemishes in or out.
Just curious but what's your price range ?

94 LT1 Firebird uses the 4L60E....the electronic version of the 700R4. Its a POS tranny. Just sayin
If you want a beautiful and very clean fully loaded 94 LT1 Trans Am that ran a 12.89 and dyno'd 355 rwhp I know where one is that needs a new PCM that could prolly be had for a good deal.

I have torn into them and seen first hand whats what with the LT1 F-bodies and the DSM cars. I have had many friends with SHOs and worked on them plus spoke to many on here and LVC and Stangnet that have had them so I know what to expect.
I appreciate the help but it sounds like you were basing some of that advice on a single car of a friends that had some off the wall issue or broke cause it was not maintained.

Now I like the TL and will check it out. Dont know hardly anything about them though. I used to own a 3.5RL and man were parts INSAINE on that thing. Even O2s were over $200 each.

Its like I really like the Lexus SC300 and SC400 and there are plenty within my price range but if anything went wrong I know its gonna be expensive. Hell the UCA is almost $300 each! LOL
Well actually a few friends have owned the Talons/Lasers/Eclipses etc and only a couple of friends have owned the SHO's. Yes I was going off of what other people have said and personally I wouldnt own an SHO because at the end of the day.......its a Ford Tauras. Now the new ones are a whole different story, lol. As far as the Talons go, they are a blast to drive but hell when something goes wrong.

The Acuras are built way better than an SHO or Talon which is why I mentioned the car. I dont think you'll have any issues with the car as long as it hasnt been ragged out.

I am really leaning towards the SHOs cause I always liked them. I am SURROUNDED by twisty roads and the SHO would be a blast on them.

The other thing (this is gonna sound dumb) is its almost fate I should get one. There was one I saw online and really wanted but the guy was asking a tad too much and the bumper is creased and the drivers seat is torn. I went with the Buick instead and that was a mistake, dont know why I settled for the Buick I bought. Well the car just turned back up for sale from the same guy and is much cheaper then he was asking before. Its low miles and I love the color plus he says everything works.
I am gonna drive it tomorrow and beat the hell out of it to see if I hear any rod noise. If the clutch is still solid and the car runs like advertized then I will get it. If not, I will continue shopping.

I am really thinking about the 94 as well cause I can get it for so cheap. Looking at the pics I can correct most of the paint issues and I can get a replacement drivers seat for cheap enough. If the car is a solid runner then it would be a good investment cause I can make a tidy profit on it and have more money to search for a better car.

From the sound of the vehicles you're mentioning, you're not spending too much so if you want quality, go with the Acura TL.... Im sure everyone will agree.

Ive had several DSM cars. Like almost ANY OHC car if you break a timing belt you will kill the motor. Dont matter if its a Civic, Corolla, LS400 etc etc.

Thats a shame. Sorry to hear that. You do realize that there is no standard electrical issue with them right? Sure some cars of any kind can have electrical issues but its not a common issue on the SHO.

SHO issues are the auto trans, the diff, valve shims, rod bearings and the clutch is a PITA to replace. If I get a SHO I will PROLLY do rod bearings and upper end kit (seals/pump/shims).

    Re-read my previous post.
