I understand she doesn't believe in doing that so she isn't going to really enforce it at all but what I don't understand is why is she stopping you from doing something you believe is best for YOUR kid? Its definitely not going to harm the kid so wtf? Makes me want to slap-a-hoe just hearing that shit

Ok, so she won't let the baby wear socks. Get some of these instead...

You'll have the wife read it? What about you? How about you get the DVD and you both watch it. The DVD is shorter and gets to the point a lot faster. But yes, either way, The Happiest Baby on the Block is good information.Originally posted by bonnie&clyde View Postcool ill have to check it out and have the wife read it

cool ill have to check it out and have the wife read itOriginally posted by Treasure Chest View PostMy kiddos were preemies, so putting socks on them was a losing battle. If he stays swaddled, I wouldn't sweat the little things. Also, I'd highly suggest buying the book, 'the happiest baby on the block,' I found it after I had my third, and I swear, it made my life tons easier. Had it been out with my first two, I would've shed a ton less tears and been a happier mother with the older two.

Dude, no kids...no opinion.Originally posted by Cobraman View PostYeah? WTF? Lol.
Just because she doesn't like socks doesn't mean the baby won't. It couldn't hurt to keep his feet warm. Why not? I'm sure she did as a baby.
Even if he has socks on, his feet will still feel cold to the touch. Let your wife mother your child without YOUR mother's interference. When a major issue comes up and your wife feels she's over her head, she will feel more inclined to ask for seasoned opinions if she doesn't feel like she's being nagged about the trivial things.
It's your duty as your mother's son, your wife's husband, and your kid's father to build the bridge that transcends the 'mom knows it all' and 'wife wants the chance to figure it out on her own.'
Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff.
