Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

No debt but a house payment and utilities, no car payments, no credit card balances, and you would be suprised how fast you can save money.
On the same note, a refi right now with as low as interest rates are is a quick way to save you anywhere from a couple hundred a month or restructure the loan and pay it off quicker saving you a bunch of coin in the long run.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I wish I was debt free, can't imagine how good that feels. All I have is a mortgage and a Truck payment and it still sucks making payments. Technically the truck is for work so I get paid for it and get to write off everything on it since I only use it for "work".
After this truck is payed off I plan on paying cash for one in 3-4 years, unless my lack of will power takes over and I buy another corvette instead and finance the truck lol.

Smart man! Granted I'm a little biased, but it's a great idea.Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostOn the same note, a refi right now with as low as interest rates are is a quick way to save you anywhere from a couple hundred a month or restructure the loan and pay it off quicker saving you a bunch of coin in the long run.

Agreed. Rates are very low right now, so find a mortgage guy that won't rip you on re-fi costs and it's a no brainer if you currently have a rate much over 5.5% or so.Originally posted by SVT Lurch View PostSmart man! Granted I'm a little biased, but it's a great idea.Ford

We've done refinances for people as low as 4.875% and turned people away with rates as high as 6.000%, there's no specific rate that makes it worth it. You just have to run the numbers and make sure you plan to be in the house long enough to cover the break even.Originally posted by quikag View PostAgreed. I did that and it took me about 2 years. It didn't happen until I was divorced though. When I was married, wife was a spender. Now I I'm divorced and pay child support and saved more in 2 years than I have been able to in the prior 19 years I had been working.Originally posted by mustangguy289 View PostIf you do not mind me asking... how long did it take you to get that?
I could figure out a way to do that in a relatively short time.. but life would suck with no fun.. and it would most likely cause a divorce if I was that tight with our money.

Took me about 5 years. Had some other issues come up or would have done it a little sooner. Still saving though. Got rid of credit cards about 5 years ago and buy everything with cash.
I'll walk through a store and grab 10 things to buy. On the way to the checkout counter I may end up with the one item I went in for or sometimes nothing at all. LOL.
