Deciding later in the day to sandbag the creek, which was too late. The written records of the crime scene are a mess. Some evidence was collected in supermarket paper sacks. Etc... The cops/coroner that worked that crime scene make Barney Fife look like Columbo in comparison.
Which, again, makes me think everyone was in on it, or covering up for the cock sucker who killed them.

Biological evidence is required to be placed in brown paper bags.

Not a drop of rain on May 4, 5, or 6. Boys were killed evening of the 5th and found early afternoon of the 6th.

Well, they certainly didn't come from the magic knife with serrated teeth that doesn't leave a drop of blood at the crime scene.

"The new DNA evidence, which indicated the none of the West Memphis Three had been at the crime scene while Terry Hobbs may well have been, was bolstered by additional “new evidence;” namely, six nationally prominent forensic experts who examined photos and evidence in the case and uniformly concluded that the mutilation wounds found on the boys’ bodies had been caused by animal predation, not knife wounds as state prosecutors had alleged throughout the trials of the West Memphis Three. This evidence was critical because the prosecution had presented the theory that the three boys were killed as part of a Satan ritual with mutilation of their bodies being part of that ritual."

And perhaps the saddest aspect of this mega high profile case that has drawn international appeal and scrutiny, boils down to an intensely violent and angry piece of white trash taking revenge for his wife's affair with "that mexican". The Hobbs' son was the target. The other two boys died because they were witnesses.

Terry Hobbs; No alibi between 6:30-8:30, His own account of his whereabouts in the timeline later refuted and not corroborated, history of domestic violence, difficulties in the marriage (his wife's affair coinciding with the event), AND his DNA (hair) on the shoe strings used to hog tie the booys.

(Rest is my opinion based on the evidence) With the whole community knowing there had been reports of satanic type activity, he dug in deep to the dark side and mutilated the bodies in a ritualistic fashion, i.e., cutting off their genitals. Sick fuck, but probably the smartest redneck in the world knowing that a predominantly white trash poverty stricken community would eat up satanism as a MO. And the best part is, the knife proven by the FBI profiler on the appeal describing how it could not have been used to make those types of deep scrapes on their bodies. The boys where mauled to some degree by animals Post-mortem.

The West Memphis 3 is an abomination with the only bright spot being the Alford Plea option that resulted in their release from prison. However, they have no option or avenue to ever sue for any form of restitution from the state for 18 years of their lives lost rotting in prison.

Echols was literally found guilty because he was a goth black clothes kind of kid who occasionally spent his spare time tagging under passes. Social outcast = perfect scapegoat. Baldwin was simply guilty by association. And Misskelley, wasn't even in the area at the time at the time the crime took place. He was at a wrestling competition 40 miles away. He was the ideal person for a Police Dept. and DA under intense pressure to get a conviction for tree very heinous crimes against children. This being because he's mentally handicapped. He was questioned for 12 hours and only 41 minutes was presented to jury. The local news got an anonymous call way back during the trial to buy the full transcript, but the local news station declined.

You could write about this case until your fingers bleed. There is 18 years of inconsistencies, lies, judicial stonewalling, etc.. At the end of the day, gross miscarriage of justice and clear evidence of the sheer power and force of a community wide mob mentality.

Terry Hobbs needs to send John Byers a great big thank you note with a ribbon on it. Byers absolute lunacy took him out of the spot light.

Again, sad case. Literally, three boys spent 18 years in prison because some guy was livid at his wife for kissing a "mexican" in their living room.

Some of the additional footage clips HBO has on demand were interesting. The one with the attorneys fighting in the hotel room AFTER the case rested about "blood" on Damien's necklace..... wow.

Byers blows my mind.... I remember how shocking the first movie was, watching him act like a lunatic. He was really disturbing, then you hear about his wife dying of unknown reasons, the dentures, the thefts etc.... Fast forward... he comes across as an intelligent man and had been even had career as a skilled jeweler. He is actually very well spoken and able to make good arguments.

Well, what do you know....Terry Hobbs

    I'm shocked.
The other step dads crazy antics took away from the creepiness factor of Hobbs.

The light was all on the other crazy stepdad.
