Well it's Tuesday now. So if they're camping in 4 days, no biggie and if they camped last weekend, no biggie. I doubt a 5.9 could cause a tree to fall over though. Cell towers are probably down.

Not even that most likely. I'm telling you from personal experince, a 6.1 isn't a big deal, especially if they are out in the open somewhere camping. The camper probably rocked for a few seconds and that was about it. If they were rocking beforehand, they probably didn't even notice. lol.

What's real funny are the brilliant ones jamming up 911. This ought to make for some interesting traffic on the way home.
No reports of any major damage. Co-worker was in his car at the time and didn't feel anything.

Anyone else think this and the Colorado quake this morning might be a prequel to a New Madrid quake reminiscent of the four that hit in 1811-1812?

Anything is possible, but not likely. People seem to really overeact when it's inactive fault lines that suddenly decide to rumble abit and rather numb over a really active fault line like San Andreas. When the truth is, all fault lines are constantly active, even the ones on the east coast, they just aren't close enough to the surface for us to feel them. The plates under us are constantly moving, something is bound to give here and there on occasion. It's just when a larger one happens in a unusual area, people start with the world coming to an end bit. lol.

The epicenter was in Mineral, VA, and I have a friend from there who lives in Lake Anna, VA, now. Not so far away. There is a nuclear power plant 3-4 miles from the epicenter that was only built to withstand a 6.1. It was shut off automatically and is noe being inspected and powered back up. He works at a plant nursery and said several things fell over and broke, and his animals are scared shitless, but that's about it.

All I've heard so far is rain this weekend through Sunday.
I only had to ride 40 miles out of my way. Normal way home was gridlocked. Saw two wrecks happen. Both cock suckers were texting and hit the car in front of them. I'm sure the context was something along the lines of, "OMG I WUZ IN KWAKE! U HEER???"
