I always remember being able to get basic cable for $10 to $15 a month but I just looked up time warner and they want $30+box rental fees, I called them and they said that is their cheapest package which seems like bullshit to me. Does anyone know how to get their hands on the cheap shit?

Box rental? Fuck those boxes, I have a co-ax cable from the tv to the wall. No box, and about 70 channels. My time warner bill is aboit $85, and that includes some bad ass internet.Originally posted by Mach1 View PostI always remember being able to get basic cable for $10 to $15 a month but I just looked up time warner and they want $30+box rental fees, I called them and they said that is their cheapest package which seems like bullshit to me. Are you talking about the local channels in HD, like 4, 5, 8 and 11? We get those with plain ole rabbit ears, no powered antenna required.Originally posted by Muffrazr View PostYou could spring for one of those expensive digital TV antennas. They require their own power supply and supposedly pick up HDTV signals. If you're in the right area, you could see 20 channels.
Then get you a wireless internet antenna and get free internet to stream Netflix.
Who are you with? Was that a special that you signed up for or is it just a "flaw" in the system?Originally posted by Johnny Armijo View Postget the internet and just splice it, I pay 30 for internet and get free basic"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

Yeah, it depends on where you are in the metroplex, I think most of the towers are in Cedar Hill.Originally posted by slow06 View PostAre you talking about the local channels in HD, like 4, 5, 8 and 11? He doesn't have a isolator or filter on his cable line - that's quite rare nowadays. The cable companies do broadcast basic cable on all of their lines if they are hot - even if you don't have an account with them. If you have a digital tuner in your TV you can tune some of the basic digital stations. Local stations will come in HD, but most of the non-broadcast networks will be standard def. It's really more of a check and see thing. I've seen vast differences in what is available at different locations.Originally posted by Mach1 View PostAre any of the channels in HD?"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
