US forest service received a lot of relief today... 9 more dozer crews, 6 ground crews, and the C130s were out from Abilene... Also received 3 helicopters from the Army... They have more on the way according to the logistics commander

Drove out to PK today to check it out (take some photos, talk to some forestry guys and check out my beloved hwy 16 put in) and its all closed off. couldnt get to the fire, couldnt get to the bridge. Smoke everywhere though. From what I could see it looked like it was burning all around the bridge. There was a Ch-47, two 60s and some sort of 53 variant all pulling fire bucket duty, I'm sure those guys are wore out. There was also one fixed wing plane but could not make out the type or anything. Very sad, between the Algae bloom and the two fires that area has been taking hard hits these last two years
