Seems pretty intolerant of cultural differences. To be fair, in context the cultural argument here is really lingual - but I question whether his opinion is limited to just the addition of Spanish to public documents published by the government and so on.

There is no official language in the United States; however, several states have declared English as the official language. Not debating the position taken itself, just taking exception with the arguments on their lack of merit and apparent xenophobia.

We went out there yesterday with the family in tow. We had a good time and did everything we wanted to do: Ride some rides, eat some junk, look at some cars. Besides being overly expensive for EVERYTHING, it was a good time and the crowds weren't crazy.

The difference is the asians don't EXPECT us to learn their language. They put a high priority in learning the english language! They may not have known it when they got here but they DID learn it. There are MANY hispanics that feel they shouldn't HAVE to and refuse to. Sounds to me like YOUR the racist! You feel it's fine to come into another country and not learn the language. Like your language and culture is superior to ours. It's not nor is it any worse than ours. I am all for keeping your culture intact but realize that learning english DOES NOT hurt your culture. In fact not learning english hurts it because it will forever limit you to low paying menial jobs. The American Dream is that everyone can rise up above their beginings and make a better life for themselves and their children. Why in the world would you intentionally sabotage that?

I can't afford to be racist I'm Comanche, Scotish, Dutch, German and who knows how many others mixed in. ALL of my ancestors learned english. I am a direct decendant of Quanah Parker who learned english well enough to represent the Comanche people in congress.
