man, from everything I've read, as long as it's a Job 2 08 and up, they're pretty damn solid...
I think they're best overall diesel truck out there at the moment for the money. No need to build the tranny to hold 500-550rwhp. just a tune, intake, and delete pipe. done.
and holy shit, the interior of this thing is about 1000 miles ahead of the 3rd gen dodges!!! If I could have afforded a 4th gen, I might have gone for it, but then again, their transmissions won't really hold 400rwhp without building them
It was a leap of faith diving into this thing, but I feel pretty good about it, and I got a pretty damn good deal on it, so if shit happens, it happens
You and I both know you won't settle for 5-550 for long. After a while you'll want to turn the wick up and that requires an egr delete and studs.

nah, I'm quite content in the 500rwhp range...
that's been about where I've been for the past decade or so... somewhere between 500-550rwhp. When you start going after 600+, that seems to be when the trouble starts! LOL
my mega cab was around 525, and it did everything I needed it/wanted it to.
I love driving something with some balls, but I DO NOT feel the need to be the fastest or anything close to it. My 03 I sold a couple months ago had a fully built tranny and I was running a 230hp tune. I probably floored it 3-4 times the whole time I owned it
Awesome man, very nice. And yeah, the Ford interiors are about the nicest thing in a domestic you can get since around 2003ish. I've been really impressed with their quality and the materials used. What are you going to be doing with this thing? Daily driver, actual "work" truck?
a little bit of everything... I do a lot of diesel performance stuff. A lot of installs. A lot of house calls...
ever since I was a field service mechanic working on compressors, I always wanted a service body, but I couldn't bring myself to cough up $5-7k for a decent bed.
this was literally the exact truck I was wanting (I would prefer black leather, but I can deal with the standstone) and it was priced right. I had to go for it!
