I know a few of you have them. What school did you go to or who do you recommend for a Business degree?

BBA in finance, North Texas
I liked North Texas but it was a commuter school. If I was going to go to a business school here in the metro I would say UNT is decent. SMU isn't bad if you can get over the cost, a degree from there put you in a clique you may not enjoy but it can lead to connections. If you are going to stay in the state but leave the metro then UT all the way.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I'd hate to even know what a degree from SMU would cost. But all the pussy running around that place just might be a good trade off.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Instead specialize in something and it will pay off a lot better after graduation.Such as? Can you give some examples?Originally posted by Slowhand View PostWhatever you do, get a useful degree. I say this now (not really sure) but I am not worried about the cost. My employer would (I hope) pick up the bill.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

It is cyclical though, ten years ago accounting would get you little. I got offered an audit job at a big 5 firm out of school and it paid $28K. Now it is over double that.Originally posted by SVT Lurch View PostFinance or Accounting started with the highest salary out of my graduating class.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

Something along the lines of this. Just my two cents, but get a degree in something you need to go to school to learn. An accounting degree is probably the most versatile undergrad degree you can get, but I'm a little biased there.Originally posted by SVT Lurch View PostFinance or Accounting started with the highest salary out of my graduating class.
If you're just looking for a degree to have one, I'd look to get a finance or economics degree and take as many accounting classes as I could possibly squeeze in.
I just signed an offer for right at about double that. SOX has pretty much made accounting a full-employment field.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostIt is cyclical though, ten years ago accounting would get you little. Then I would absolutely say SMU. It's an undergrad degree; people can stress the quality of an undergrad business degree all they want, but it really doesn't matter where you go once you reach a certain point. But if you can get part or all of it covered, I'd say SMU in a heartbeat.Originally posted by 347Mike View PostI say this now (not really sure) but I am not worried about the cost. No doubt, I think it is going to end up pushing salaries for all business degrees up because more people are going to go into accounting.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostI just signed an offer for right at about double that.
