It was caught on a 4hr bay trip thought Dolphin Docks in Port Aransas. Cost $45 and you can bring your own rods, they will rig em up. If you go, don't do the morning trip, do the one that leaves at 1PM as they have been more productive. We got into a school of bull reds right off the jetty. Someone actually caught one bigger than this on that trip. 20 people on the boat, 7 bull reds that were over 30" long...Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostBoat or beach?
What kind of rig were you using??
We'd drop the bait to the bottom and reel it back up about 3ft.
I had heard that you cannot catch fish in the red tide, but this trip proved that theory wrong to me.

Sorry but I had to put some bad mojo/voodoo on ya for not calling.

My coworker just got back from fishing Port A and was telling me about that same school of red's. He did pretty well too, pretty sure he was in a private boat though.Originally posted by fredfarmer View PostWe got into a school of bull reds right off the jetty. It was a spur of the moment deal. 3 guys in an extended cab truck. It wasn't a comfort trip. It was rough for me, let alone someone even 10 years older!!!!Originally posted by cobrajet69 View PostNor did I get a fukn invite - Matthew!

Go the little bit extra drive next time and hit Port Aransas. Always had way better luck down there.
...I remember someone posting pics on the old site of a ~8-9' Mako that he reeled-in from the beach in Corpus or PA.
EDIT: Make that a 10' Mako.....

I caught a 4' Hammerhead near Portland off of a pier. That was a mean fish.
