I just read it when they first posted it up, but thats pretty dam funny. What river are you talkin about??? He was claiming it was off Zion rd across from BPS. Hell the river has been dry for along time.Originally posted by ToRqUeTwIsTeR View PostFake story...story is actually of Whitney. The guy posted it to keep people out of the river or anywhere near it. Some people want the river all to themselves.

He is claiming that it was an old lady in a truck over on the Rowlett side just north of the golf course. For some reason the name of the road isn't coming to me but anyways. He is doing it to keep the people that are normally scared to make the run to the river out of there so they won't gps all of the underwater hazards that are now out of the water. Also, to keep them from cutting down or marking th hazards for just any yahoo to go up there. There is about 10 or so guys that always fish up there and they want it all to themselves. They have been known to take out markers that mark hazards.Originally posted by Hell-Bent SS View PostI just read it when they first posted it up, but thats pretty dam funny. yea i cant figure that out, it shows over 6 miles low, so not sure how it is being calculated. Something isnt right because the world's deepest freshwater lake is 5,300 feet deep.Originally posted by Z06killinsbf View PostLook at Great Falls lake in TN. deepest in the US is Crater lake in Oregon at 2,000 feet deep

I am pretty sure OH Ivie and Lake Travis have Benbrook covered. There are some lakes out west that are either almost completely dry or already are bone dry.Originally posted by stephen4785 View PostBenbrook is still down 30 something feet. I think it's down lower than any other lake in Texas. They let out water all summer long to feed the trinity river project and to keep the levels on richland chambers and eagle mountain.

This is incorrect. Benbrook is currently 16ft. low. Benbrook does NOT flow into either Eagle Mountain or Richland Chambers.Originally posted by stephen4785 View PostBenbrook is still down 30 something feet. The Water District actually pumps OUT of Richland Chambers INTO Benbrook. We also have the ability to pump OUT of Benbrook, and INTO Eagle Mountain.
We are not "feeding" the Trinity River Project with water from anywhere.
I mean no disrespect, these are common misconceptions. If you'd like, I might be able to arrange a tour of the pumping facilities at Benbrook sometime.
