Thankfully, I've got an older passport that doesn't have one, but the kids' all have them. In order for the foil to work, it must have an insulated coating around it before the aluminum... if you're going for the true Faraday effect.

First you're thinking strictly in terms of an emp...second only the sensitive components (RFID) would matter if tied to chassis. And C, even though all these chips are fully insulated I don't know that it matters.

I'm also talking about a scan (not swipe). If it is wrapped in foil, it will still be able to read the rfid. What would wrapping it with metal do if it is touching on all sides? LOL
