This is what we call anecdotal evidence. It also makes the argument that race is genetic, which is absurd. Race is a completely social construct.

I agree race is a socially created idea, it does carry with it genetic ideals. Many will argue that a race is determined by common biological traits, as well as ancestry and geographic origin. The true basic human races in the most simplest and purest forms are based on common biological traits; Mongoloid, Caucasian, Negroid, and Austroloid. But those races were also original pure races, before societies became mobile, and the idea of sub-races formed due to basic evolution, mutation, and inter race breeding.

Race in its simplest terms is defined as "a group of persons related by common descent or heredity". Considering the original Jews were the "chosen people" all from a common place, who shared the same biological traits, and geographic ancestry, who bred amongst themselves, and created a "pure" bloodline originally, then the basis of Jewish being a race is supported.

Today however, simply claiming Judaism as a religion and calling one self a Jew does not make you Jewish by race. Orthodox Israeli Jews are Israeli by nationality, Jewish by race, and Jewish by religion. They can always denounce Judaism as their religion, and they can seek citizenship elsewhere to claim a different nationality, but they cannot stop being Jewish by race. Just like I cannot stop being Caucasian by denouncing it. Not that I would, I love being white!
