First of all, he's not going to lie. He's going to "repair" his vehicle and show proof to the court, which will normally dismiss the ticket and charge him the court cost. Secondly, yes really, the seriousness of the "crime" should determine the seriousness of the penalty. You act like you're going to bring him up on felony charges for a fucking front plate. Get real.

And Geoff, if you want clarification of my stance, you're implying that I have some sort of moral obligation to be truthful to a court of law. To do that would be to corner myself into being honorable in the face of a system that has no honor. Thats not a requirement to pass a safety or emmissions insp. I doubt you got failed for that. Maybe a light not working since thats what causes a rapid flash. So improper functioning safety equipment i would believe
