Since it appears that you were the one who didn't bother to read the verses, here they are.
Matthew 5:17-20 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Luke 16:17 "It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law."
James 2:21-22 "Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did."
James 2:24 "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone."
James 2:26 "As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."
So, if the old laws are still in effect per Jesus, then the bible supports all of the atrocities of the Old Testament as endorsed modern day practices.
However.......Everything is accomplished by His death on the cross.

This should be good.

I dislike the US government, but I do not hate americans as a group of people. In the situation we're talking about, you view the american people and the US government as one.
This should be good.

Jesus is saying he will fulfill them, and that all should follow the laws until it is achieved.
