My dad bought an '03 at auction from City of Ft. Worth. Had 90k on it, I don't think he's done anything to it and it's a great little truck when we need to do house projects. I think he paid $2300 for it.

My 2000 Ranger 2.3 is at 253k and still going strong. Been the best truck I have ever owned.

Had a 2002 traded it for my first f150. Don't really regret it but damn that lil ranger got good gas mileage it had the DOHC 2.3

Wow, I wouldn't have expected that. I always had a soft spot for rangers. I had a single cab stepside 93 splash with a 4.0 v6, 5spd, and a 3.55 trac loc rear. I remember at the time thinking it was probably the quickest combination of options for that truck. It was a damn fun little truck, did great donuts and pretty quick for what it was, lol. A 2005 ranger saved my brothers life in a front end collision.

The one we aren't getting looks like a decent rig.

way to steer away from the point genius

my point is the f150's are not even near as fuel efficient as the rangers, the say the ecoboost is as fuel efficient as the v6 ranger but they say nothing about how many of the f150's are actually the ecoboost model and how many of the rangers are the 4cylinder models

either way when it's time to get a small truck a 4cyl or 4.0 ranger is hard to beat

I had an 01 Ranger Edge with a 4.0 in it, 4x4. I loved that truck, towed a full size 78 Bronco backwards from Ft. Hood to Dallas at 70mph with no problem. It looked like an ant towing a loaf of bread. I'd still have her but while I was at a stop light, I got hit by a semi doing 55. Ripped the wheels off the back and threw them across the intersection, folded the bed into the cab and I got out without a scratch

    I miss it

the ecoboost is the most expensive of the 3, so it pretty much goes into the loaded trucks. not the everyday delivery/work/fleet trucks

but my point was that most of the f150s get either the 3.7 v6 or a v8, so pointing out that the ecoboost gets the same gas mileage as the v6 ranger is stupid. since not that many(i would venture to say a pretty small percentage) f150s have the ecoboost and i would say half(if not more since they dropped the 3.0) of the rangers have the 4bangers
The ecoboost v6 f-150 outsells the 5.0 version.

Mexicans. I don't think I've ever seen anyone of any other race/nationality/whatever roll something like that.
