We have a 42" LG LED 1080 in the bedroom that I got for $379 and it's a great TV. Awesome picture and the sound isn't near as bad as some of the TV's I've heard. I would buy LG before Sony any day.

Yeah... LG isn't lower tier. They are on the same level as Sony, Samsung and Panasonic. And don't fail as often as Sony and Samsung.
