Is this the guy opening up a new security company here in the Dallas area? I think it's the same guy. I can't wait to read his book. Two of my favorites are Hathcock books, "White Feather" and "Marine Sniper". Sounds like this guy surpassed ol' Carlos.

The problem with this concept is that Carlos did his 89? with 1969-ish optics, and was still right at 100%, I believe. Not trying to take anything away, because I have tons of respect for both, but that is apples to oranges, IMHO.

He still deserves a case of wallets.

I'm a HUGE Carlos fan. His "unconfirmed" count is waaay up there. He had tons of kills when he was "solo", and a few times held off the enemy with a machine gun when their extraction team didn't make it in time.

By the way, there's an interesting review about the book written by a vet. I clicked on EW's link and read the reviews.

I have never met anyone that had a story like that, that turned out to be true. I would definitely check it out. If I had a nickel for every "seal" or "sniper" that I met that turned out to be a "nobody", I'd be rich. I've never served, but it still pisses me off when people claim things they did not do.

The writing style was OK at best. The story and the one-upmanship was awesome. I've always been impressed by people that can shoot, and I don't mean on paper at 100 yards...

Bought the book online through iTunes for my iPad last night and I'm about 100 pages into it. Not bad but i hope it gets better. Couple of side notes, the iTunes copy was like $14.95 and it's the first book I've bought that had videos built into it along with links to the Internet with info on different things. Second note, after buying the book I found a copy of it on a torrent site. Oh well...
