  • Those Who Search Craigslist. Question

Over time I've noticed "codes" at the bottom of posting/ads. What exactly do those codes do?

Here is an example of a code ive seen.

    Code words: N78390 78390

    99 00 01 02 03 04 05 06

    1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006
    compresor compresora
    A-N $359.99 + $29.70 TAX=GT $388.70 / O-N $359.99 + $29.70 TAX=GT $388.70

Reason I ask is that im posting up some parts for sale, Misc car parts from prior jobs my dad has accumulated at the shop over time.
Im guesstimating that those codes help the seller out, As in if someone searches for "Ford" It will populated every add with that key word "ford".

I think those typically added by the poster. The more terms and part numbers you include in your posting the easier it'll be for someone to find you when they search for it. It's all about the SEO.
    Tera 4:1 + 4.88's = Slowest rig on here
