Damn! That's pretty good for freehand. I'm impressed. I got my first tattoo at AE. Funnily enough it's getting covered up when I get my half sleeve. I was young and dumb.

I had some work done by the AE in North Dallas, I wasn't very happy with it, the guy who did it was "Big Mike". I'm greatful that I didn't go with something intricate.

I am also looking for a good place to get some work done, I want something big and bad this time and don't want to get the wrong person again.

Every shop has some new guys, or guys still in the learning process. I'd ask for referrals, and to see their portfolio before I even thought about letting someone even draw something up for me. Hell ask for the artist that's been there the longest, and you'll probably find the owner and one other person who opened the shop with them. Artists move all the time, simply because most of them lack discipline and like to party. Not all, but definitely most of the younger guys for sure.
