What if this 600hp Cobra has Road race capabilities, like say, Koni DA F/R, Chrome Moly KM w/RRAA, UCA, LCA, Kenny brown PHR and the car wieghs about 2950lbs? would this car have a chance against a stock Miata with R compounds?

You would probably be surprised Henry. I don't quite want to say that horsepower is meaningless at an autocross, but it almost is. Clean driving lines and appropriate acceleration/braking are much more important. It's always easier to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow.

I've seen a lot of C-prepared cars that weren't competitive because they had too much power. Grip is the name of the game and finesse is critical.

I will say, the one autox event I have been to was for nothing but vipers. While we were setting up everything, a couple of the workers had miatas and did a few passes. Out of 20 plus vipers, I think one of them matched the best run from the Miata.

They got around the course ok I guess. I had nothing to compare it too than the two miatas from the guys working. There were a few spin outs of course.
