Im guessing this is also the reason why the speed limit is still 60 mph on 114 and 635? "If we increase the speed limit to 70, we can't give you a ticket err...I mean it'll cause accidents to skyrocket."

This and tax revenue are the real reasons as to why they are required. But Matt, other LEOs, and the DMV will never publicly admit to it.

Do as you are told and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Your whole accident and identification scenario doesn't hold water though, when you consider the other states that don't require them. So, you still have yet to have a solid plausible point on why they are required.

I say this, to say that his opinion as to why they are required is no less laughable than yours.

So, is anything even going to be done about the driver?

Good to hear. Driver should've stopped, it's hard to have sympathy for someone getting fired when they did a hit and run - ESPECIALLY in a company vehicle that has advertising all over it. Some people don't think at all.

Damn, the pig squealed and he was the one who started the whole mess.

To the OP, hope you get the issue solved and have the driver looking for another job for his screw up.

Sounds like a pretty fucking dumb reason to me. Cameras can take pictures of the rear of cars just as easily as they can the front.
