Good thing California has them or this guy might have gotten away
(CBS) - Police in Glendale, Calif. say that on Saturday morning they pulled over a 49-year-old man who was driving 30 mph. In reverse. For three miles.

I have received a ticket for driving backwards on a one way street(Regal Row) FTPOriginally posted by bcoop View PostNo, not really. 19 states don't require them. That's a fact. If hit and runs and identification from the front of a vehicle were such an issue in those states, they would require them as well. That's just common sense.
What is an opinion, is your opinion that front plates are necessary in TX due to hit and run accidents and the need to identify a vehicle from the front.

Damn Brent, do you have to be so obtuse? There are some drugs that are legal in Europe, should they be made legal here? How would you like some thalidomide?Originally posted by bcoop View PostNo, not really. 19 states don't require them. That's a fact. When was the last time you pulled anyone over at all, tough guy?

So, are you going to respond to any of my points and answer my question? Ignorance shining through. You're the only one talking about Europe. As many times as this conversation has come up, and you are in every thread, defending the law and the jack booted thugs; and you STILL can't come up with one plausible reason as to why this is necessary.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostDamn Brent, do you have to be so obtuse? Why don't you poll each state's legislature and ask why the law is the way it is? For you to assume any reason is asinine.Originally posted by bcoop View PostNo, not really. 19 states don't require them. That's a fact. From a LEO standpoint, I would prefer each vehicle to be plated front and back to make readily available identification. There are hit and runs, gas drive offs, robberies, burglaries, assaults (you get the picture, insert offense here) that occur that the plate on both ends may assist in identifying the suspect vehicle.
From a driver of a sports car standpoint, I don't want a front plate on my car.
The last question is stupid.

The only thing that makes any kind of "logical" sense, is that the guy was drunk. Being jobless is better than being jobless and in jail with a $10k lawyer bill.Originally posted by ceyko View PostGood to hear. Driver should've stopped, it's hard to have sympathy for someone getting fired when they did a hit and run - ESPECIALLY in a company vehicle that has advertising all over it. Some people don't think at all.
