What are you looking for? Even though Ive already gotten a job in the oilfield last year I still get calls from recruiters almost weekly. Currently Weatherford is hiring for South Texas and North Dakota, CalFrac is hiring for Texas and Pennsylvania, Baker Hughes is hiring for West Texas and South Texas, Pioneer Energy is hiring for West Texas. Those are all the calls ive gotten in the past 2 weeks lol.

And if you dont mind traveling to work, apply out of state. I know a lot of positions in North Dakota and Pennsylvania pay for your flights to/from home for your days off. Like CalFrac told me part of the crew they are putting together for Pennsylvania was 3 weeks on, 2 weeks off back home, and they pay for your flights to and from home, plus your daily per diem for food, plus hotel/loding, plus your hourly rate plus safety/stage bonus.

According to Glasscock County Sheriff Keith Burnett, Sheriff's Deputies responded to an industrial accident about 11 miles southwest of Garden City Tuesday.

We're told crews responded to a Laredo lease where Great White Pressure Pump was fracking a well when a high pressure line exploded.

Sheriff Burnett tells us Noe Cadriales, 51, of Harlingen, TX, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Glasscock County Sheriff's Office conducted the investigation, OSHA is now investigating.

So what is the easiest way to get into one of these position? I know applying and all that but my resume isn't that spectacular. I've been in school since I left high school and not working. I'm a 22 year old kid and I want to give this a shot. Any info on how would be greatly appreciated..

15,000 psi can kill someone pretty quick. It is more likely with the old school guys who do not respect the equipment they are working around. These guys say when its their time they cannot do anything about it and it hasnt killed them yet. Actually heard someone saying that the other day.

I wish I could show you some of the accidents that have happened around here. See 3" iron cut like it was paper or drill pipe bent in half. There is a reason these guys get paid more than your average Joe.

On that note, most of the catatrophic and death claims we get come out of the energy accounts.

^^^ What kind of work are you looking for? Do you have issues with travel and a split shift of 14 on and 7 off? Or possibly being stuck on a project till it's finished if it's a short term offshore project ( typically 3-4 weeks). Are you familiar with the Snubbing? One of my clients was hiring recently, just PM me for details.

My degree is just business management but, thanks for the advice.

edit: I applied with CUDD but never heard anything back, that was almost 2 months ago..

I've heard commercials on the radio here where companies are having drive thew job fairs, you don't even have to get out of your damn truck to apply lol. A friend who works at Baker said they have bought a couple of mobile office/buses to take to gun shows and other events to do interviews on the spot.

Hell if you need to put some distance between you and the GF. One of the other Halliburton etechs I talked to said they shipped his ass overseas(Africa, I think). He made some serious coin and had no bills or time to spend it. Now he's back here still making good money and has a good cushion.

That is pretty much exactly what i'm looking for. I'd love to be able to do that but, I just haven't been given the opportunity too. And no this isn't one of those poor pitiful (my life sucks) post's at all. I know I could work at some shit place for 8 bucks an hour but, that wont pay for school.
