GMRS I hear are good as long as the other people your talking to have the same channel. I heard it's alot easier test for the HAM license then what it was years ago.

Does the applicant still have to know Morse Code? That used to be the case years ago.

Gmrs license is no test just a $35 fee

Guy I work with went up on some god forsaken mountain last year and won some competition for being able to reach the most people or something. He eats that stuff up, also into storm chasing, go figure.

I’ve enjoyed messing with the gmrs stuff.. it’s pretty awesome how strong they are as walkie talkies and dudes chime in from far away on channel 20 i guess they’re using repeaters because some are from Louisiana
