So, everyone moved to Facebook and other places, does a message board have a chance to survive these days? What would entice people to come back, etc?

For me, Facebook is fine for what it is but it REALLY sucks for things forums are good at, like a long lasting build thread and easily searched content that might be a few years old. Forums like SVTPerformance.com and Stangnet.com are still fairly active when it comes to Mustang specific stuff. I think the problem with this one was that it was always kinda regional. We aren't going to get new people on board here as the younger generation somehow thinks Reddit is a good replacement for a forum... it's not.
