I'm not having any issues with my rooted Evo 4G....in fact I'd have to say compared to my jailbroken and unlocked Iphone 3gs my Evo is much more stable (and I have pretty much the same apps on it that I had on my Iphone). One thing I DO like...very much....I can plug this thing into ANY computer with a USB port and can file share and drag and drop as I wish....and I can use my Evo pretty much like any USB drive. That was and will prolly always be one of my biggest gripes about the Iphone and IOs in general. I RARELY turn on 4G...I haven't noticed much of a difference between AT&T's 3g network and Sprints 3g network as far as speed...but I'm not playing COD or WoW. My own 4g tests have been a good deal faster than AT&T's 3G network normally..but it depends on the signal. There is NOTHING that could make me go back to an Iphone...you don't realize how big a difference the screen size is until you start browsing the web on it. The Iphone WAS great about 3 years ago...but other than some retarded apps that make it talk to you now...it really hasn't changed that much. One thing that hasn't changed is that Apple constantly holds back features that pretty much all the other manufacturers are already including (4G for one)...so that they can introduce a NEW and barely improved version every 6 months for another 4-6 hundred bucks. Its astonishing that people line up every 6 months or so after spending hundreds of dollars on the previous one...only to do the same thing again...for what....a different color case, a processor that is STILL much slower than what HTC or Samsung offer, a battery that you STILL cant change without paying Apple's overpriced service fee, or now a stupid talking phone? I'll keep my outdated Evo 4G..and eventually might get a newer dual core model..that will destroy Apple's current Iphone 4ss, 4si, 4ser,4s mkII, or whatever their current outdated phone is.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostI hate apple but must admit, you will only like an android for the first few weeks. Then when it's loaded with apps, it just turns into a glitchy battery hog

My take for the OP: If you're a tinkerer or like the freedom of doing what You want with YOUR device, Android all the way. If you just want it to work with minimal user interaction, iPhail is for you.
If you have some specific questions concerning Android, ask them and I'm sure we'll answer them satisfactorily.

I think it is a coin toss, get what you prefer to use. I have a SGS2 and I know I would like it better if I could root it, but it is a company phone and we can't root/jailbreak any devices that use our company's apps. I will probably go back to iOS with the iPhone 5 under these conditions, it just works better and doesn't have all the bloatware.
Some annoyances with the samsung is it will decide to randomly shut off all the radios. Sometimes I will go for hours before I notice that I haven't had service and you have to restart the phone to get the radios to turn back on. Also, while the battery life is pretty good, it takes FOREVER to charge. I got used to being able to throw my phone on the charger for 10 minutes when it was nearly dead to get me by for a few hours. With the SGS2 10 minutes may add a couple of % to the battery.

Expandable storage(SD card) is a nice feature too. Along with being able to transfer files easily between multiple computers without having to have your itunes account on it.
Also, itunes is a clunky piece of shit of a program.
<-- has had a 3g, Atrix(until I smashed it and fixed it a few times- then it started acting funny), infuse(backup phone), and currently a SGS2 Skyrocket..
