Thats your opinion. I voiced mine. How much have you donated to this guy...or other needy causes on this site?

Youre wrong for laying a guilt trip on this site to help someone that you decided was worthy. Poor soldier cant afford to take care of his family on xmas. Please help. Of course people will help, but what happens when a member of this site needs us but the well is dry from stuff like this? Dude, I'm no scrooge. I was a combat soldier at one point and I help out where I can, but sometimes tough love works best. Our govt has shown that handouts do not work. But props to you for trying to make a difference...I just disagree with your methods. Kinda like the lesson in the Bible about giving a man some fish vs teaching him to fish.
    Happy Holidays,
    Dr Scrooge.

Yeah yeah. Scumbags hide behind uniforms as well(not saying this guy is as I dont know him). This is the time of year they all put on their sad faces and woe is me attitudes and dupe people into giving. After all, it's the season of giving. He was injured 5yrs ago. It sucks, but thats plenty enough time to get his shit figured out. It's like stray animals...you may feed one but its not to help the animal, it's to clear your conscience. "Whelp, I did my part to help that poor animal. The rest can fend for themselves...." Even if there are more deserving out there. But, just so I dont get labeled a heartless asshole, I am sending some necessities. If you send money, thats your choice.

My wife talked to his, she's still breast feeding so formula isn't needed, but diapers are. They're good on baby wipes too. Like most infantry guys, he has a ton of it

Also, its not like his kids are old enough to understand Christmas and they wouldnt know if Santa doesnt come.
I kind of agree with the above. However, my hats off to this guy for his service. I suffer from PTSD and have been to mandatory job related PTSD classes, but I still work(now in another field).

However, I can't imagine losing an eye. Would be very traumatic. I wish him all the best. And do not mean to come across as being insensitive in any way.
