In all honesty for a male with even average size hands this note kicks ass. I used my wife's iPhone 4g and it seems miniature and a pain in the ass to use because of the small size off buttons and such. I thought the s-pen would be a gimmick but it rocks to use while surfing web pages knowing you are getting exactly what link you want.

You honestly don't realize how much the iPhone sucks till you use something like the note

yea jailbreaking iphones make them run slower and mess up from time to time

rooting(jailbreaking) an android phone makes it smoother and faster like an un-jailbroken iphone and it is a lot easier to do than an iphone from what i hear

Everything I've read and experienced is that rooting makes them even more unstable than they are out of the box. People are constantly having to fuck with them, or flash a new rom. My iphone works, every fucking time.

It's honestly NOT that large. I can sit in the car with it in my front pocket without issue...till I have pull it out for a call!

As I get older, looking at that f'n small screen on the iphone 4 was driving me nuts. I mostly use it while traveling and trying to read an email, get directions to someplace (I travel 90% of the time for work) and just generally getting pissed about "fat fingering" buttons or links I had enough and wanted something larger. I considered the galaxy II S which sort of dwarfs the iPhone, but I wanted something even larger. The fact I can actually use some of my work applications on the Note that would not show properly on the iPhone sold me. You can even get a version of firefox on the note and so far I have found even better versions of the apps I was using on my iphone and have yet to pay for an app on the Note.

Before you knock it, go to a store with your iPhone and compare them side by side. I annoyed the AT&T sales guy and spent an hour playing with the note on display comparing it to my old iPhone. There are a couple of subtle things I liked about the iPhone better but in all honesty, I have gotten over them in the 3 weeks I have had the Note.

if you just want a simple smart phone that is limited in what it can do or has to be managed by f'n iTunes....the iPhone is for you. If you want to REALLY use a smart phone for what you can do with a smart phone...the android stuff seems to be pulling ahead....especially with the Note.

^^^ Do you wear Cargo pants? That thing looks huge! I also have to carry around the PDM for my Omnipod (insulin pump), no way I can fit that and my PDM in my pocket, the iPhone takes up enough room

But I'm a beast at one-hand texting w/ swype on Android. My dad has a Galaxy S II and it's just big enough to be a bit of a pain to one-hand swype. He loves it because he holds the phone in one hand and uses the other for screen input.

I text/type/surf/etc. on my phone w/ one hand. Leaves the other free for driving, drinking, bating, etc.

I'm torn right now with phones. I can renew and get a new phone...currently have the Iphone 4. Considering the 4s, Galaxy S 2, Galaxy Note, or Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket.

Thats a iphone, a droid phone will snap to life and is so much faster than stock battery life has been tweaked for max life. Not to mention the thousands of ways you can set up how it works and acts.
Most are very easy to root, and then find a rom you like and that is tweaked for what you need.
Its kind of like taking your car down and have a custom dyno tune done to it. Twist and turn every bit of performance out of it. Or you can turn it down and get extra long battery life for a small hit in power. Read up over at forum.xda-developers.com and see what you can do with it.
