If you decide Rockwall, drive down Ridge until it turns into 740 heading towards Heath, those are the houses you are looking for. They are huge and really nice. Close to the lake, and not that far from town.

We've been over there. There's a nice golf course around there, too, but I don't play anymore. We really like the gated community that runs along the lake on the west side of Ridge Rd.

TBH, if I had the scratch, I would move out in the country for your price range. and there is plenty to choose from out here. But that is just me. I like my space. But I can see how having acreage is a pain in the ass.

I drove it this morning and it wasn't bad. Got on 30 in Rockwall just west of Ridge Road, drove to Hampton, which is the other side of downtown Dallas, and it took an hour. Think I got to the highway right at 7:15.

Though I have seen it take longer.

That would be Chandlers Landing. Long standing neighborhood with a restaurant that comes and goes. Excellent marina with lots of sailing going on in the summer. Regata week at the club was always a blast growing up...
