well... if your license, registration, and insurance is current, you don't have too much to worry about. If you get pulled over and cited on your way to get the vehicle inspected, it will be very easy to get that charged dismissed with your new proof of inspection.

BUT... if you're driving around with a SUSPENDED LICENSE in a vehicle that isn't 100% legal, you're just a goddamn retard

Absolutely right. I wouldn't be driving with a suspended license anyway. Hell, I have only been pulled over twice in my 10 years of driving, one for a tail light, the other for the registration being out, both times the cops were nice, just told me to get it fixed.

I have never had a cop be an asshole to me right off the bat. In my experience, you tend to get what you give. Curb the attitude next time and maybe things will work out different. What about inspection? You supposed to trailer it up to the station to get it inspected? What if you replaced an O2 sensor and now have to drive it 50 miles it order for the system to get ready, then what are you supposed to do?
