When I worked in the Family Violence/Sexual Assault Unit, there was a case were a black male raped a white female. The male admitted in interview that he did it because she was white.

The investigator had a meeting with an intake attorney to file it as a hate crime and the DA's office would have NOTHING to do with a hate crime with a minority as the defendant.
