Well those 3 - 4 minutes you guys talk about lasted through half episodes of stuff I wanted to watch.. I have been at places watching sports events that went out for longer than that.. I have NEVER lost TV from storm, wind, rain, etc.. with U-Verse. That was a simple point. I have excellent quality in mine, some don't, and that sucks for them.

If I ever call up to get my bill lowered and they will not do it, then I will def be hitting up DirecTV lol

Plus the fact that antenna is the real deal uncompressed 1080 with Dolby Digital stereo sound. Broadcast OTA HDTV looks a LOT better than most pay TV HD signals I've seen.

There are people who say they don't but I think they are full of it. I know several people with Dish and Direct who lose full or quality of picture when the weather rolls in. Hell most of your Sports bars run Direct... bad weather and their TV's go out..

So yeah no brainer for me was to kick the dish years ago.
I've had Dish for over eleven years and the only time we've lost the picture is briefly during severe thunderstorms. It's a satellite system, it's going to happen. It only lasts for 3-4 minutes and then it's back up. It actually holds up very well during thunderstorms and very heavy rain and 9 times out of 10, doesn't go out at all. Dish has always given us excellent customer service, and top notch equipment at a very fair price while holding those prices firm. Compared to the rest of the bullshit with ATT, I still say it's a no brainer.

I had DirecTv for like 13 years, and one time the weather caused a problem, I called, they sent someone out who adjusted the dish and it never had a problem again. Now, if it was a flatout downpour that made it so you couldn't see across the street, yeah it would go out, but seriously, in the 13 years, I bet I lost signal less than 10 times.

Only reason I switch to Verizon FIOS was they would no longer deal on the NFL Ticket prices, and after having it for 13 straight years, and having to haggle every year to get a reduced price, I had it. That last year Achmed wouldn't budge, so I dropped service.

I switched after a door to door girl sold me on it.

Dont get me wrong i love my uverse. I previously had Direct TV(83$) with some cheap slow ATT DSL(20$)

My DirectTV was about to be up anyways and Fios isnt offered in my neighborhood.

The only thing that pissed me off was that she said the Installation would be free. They charged me 150$. I called ATT and told her it was suppose to be free and i still have my papers that said it'd be free. She said she couldnt do anything about it, even after i offered to fax her the papers.

I was paying 110 a month for Uverse plus internet. After the 6 month rebate went up, i started paying 154$ ... I wish we had Fios though, but Uverse is still solid.

DirectTV only sucked because of the rain/wind issues and you couldnt record as many shows at once cmpared to Uverse. I went through 4 boxes with them through 2 years of service.

I have uverse. I pay too much, but can't compare it, as we've had uverse the 3.5 years we've been here. Picture is good, but not spectactular, and have fiber to my house, and I've had problems with 2 of the boxes. I think all the providers suck, but can't tell which is the best or worst.

    Sorry.

The other thing if you do get Uverse, make sure that the tech uses ethernet cable for the install rather than coax. I don't know if it helps with the quality, but it does at least give you a hardwired internet connection in any room with a box...

Shit....you got lucky if it took only 3-4 hours and 7 or 8 phone calls. When I ordered the service they magically LOST and forgot everything.....5 times...and never showed up to install, had no record of me ordering the service (after 5 fucking times)...and then when they DID finally get the order processed...they came out...hooked up the junk...and left...but never turned on the TV to verify it even worked (which it didn't), and then it took 3 more days to get the stupid fucks to come back out on a repair ticket (which they tried to charge me for....repeatedly on multiple bills which I had to call each time to get removed)...only to first get told AFTER it was installed that A...my house was too far from the distribution box and that it wouldn't work (even though my neighbors on both sides had it), THEN when that was proven false...B. they tried to tell me the problem was with the wiring in my house...which was proven false after a technician FINALLY owned up that the problem was with THEIR box down the street. It ultimately ended up taking roughly 2 weeks after the inital install...about 2 days worth of phone calls, and multiple technicians to get the service working.

This is actually kind of misleading. They don't have customer service.

AT&T sucks ass, Uverse is the nastiest, shittiest TV service on earth.

We have the "bundle" currently. It started out last June at $203.00 a month for 2 cell phones and Uverse (cable and internet service). Now it has magically gone up to $315.36 for the 2 phones and Uverse (cable and internet service). They said the only way to get it lower would be to sign a 6 month to 1 year contract. However we have no plans to stay in the current location more than 3 months. Then where we are looking to move, may or may not have Uverse service.
