  • Aaron, I like very clean designs. Some of these watches are huge and silly looking IMO, and very cluttered. The Sinn 556 is clean as they come and can be had for about a grand; a little less actually.

It would go pretty well with that white M3 IMO.

Are there any new watches in that range that you would suggest, or should I just expect to pay substantially more?
Eliminating the used market will drastically reduce your choices.

On a side note, I just put this little guy out for sale in my store today. Pretty nice watch if you like Bulova.

I tend to agree that simple is better, that's a good looking watch. I do have a basic watch with leather in my Victorinox, so perhaps I am leaning more towards getting something a little more dressed up in stainless.

I'm not completely opposed to used, but the word vintage kinda set me off. I've definitely wasted tons of money on new car parts over the years, where used would've performed the same. I don't think I want an "old" watch though.

What are you asking for that Bulova? As mentioned to Danny, I think I am leaning towards stainless, but I am entertaining all options.

          • The Bulova is $99.99

I understand where you're coming from, at one point I was not a fan of vintage either. The more I've looked at and tried on, though, the more I like.

As for new, and under $1k...Hamilton would probably be my choice. Weil is okay, but I've never seen one that I would ever wear. Ebel is nice, but has absolutely horrible resale value.
