San Diego...you will need a big pay raise to live in that place...baller status!Originally posted by mikeb View PostI don't know... might have a job offer in san diego... might not...
If not, we'll head down to florida to hang with my wife's dad while we figure out the next thing. I might get a job on the beach arranging deck chairs LOL....

Well, if you buy a home - yeah, prices are insane. Apartment rents are about $1500+/month depending on what you want (i've seen shitholes advertised for $900/month), and i only need a 1 bedroom. San Diego is a military town and rents seem to be in line with what military guys make for apartments near the military bases. Gas is insane of course.Originally posted by Zfan View PostSan Diego...you will need a big pay raise to live in that place...baller status!
If we move out here i plan to finish my 4 year degree and then maybe i'll move on somewhere else (I've found that a 4 year degree is the new high school diploma to employers, and i've only got a 2 year degree).
I think that San Diego will ultimately simply be a stop on the way to somewhere else. If San Diego falls thru i think we'll be heading down to Florida to stay with my wife's dad for awhile until we figure stuff out.

"The things you own end up owning you" deal. People thought we were nuts when we sold/donated the majority of what we had but I was so glad to rid my life of baggage. It taught me I could walk away.Originally posted by talisman View PostBumming around without a residence to take care of, and all the shit you've accumulated inside it over the years is quite a relief. Yup. Went from 2100 square feet to 750 and a garage, and it is GRAND. Takes 45 minutes every 2 weeks to clean this place up, including dusting, vacuuming, etc. I'll buy another house or condo at some point, but I definitely learned a lot from that last fiasco.
