Well, after two months of looking and being almost completely out of money, I might have found a job, and a good one, in a good location. My friend of 15 years from Austin came to town and he knew I was looking for a job. After talking to his wife who is a branch manager at a credit union in West Austin, she offered me a job as a collections manager at her branch. They just built a house down in Buda (first town south of Austin) and offered to hole me up until I found a place down there. I gotta talk to her a little more in detail about it tonight, but it pays fairly well and bank hours aren't horrible. This works out great because I've been wanting to move back down there basically ever since I moved back up here.

I quit back in August. Probably a little pre-maturely but all in all I think it was for the best. 60+ hours a week at a job I didn't really like was taking a toll on me physically and mentally. I can definitely say that I have a very deep respect for service writers now. At least the good ones, and Five Star has some great ones. Those guys work their butts off. It was a great opportunity, because at Five Star, the writers are given a lot of freedom compared to other places. Discounting tickets and being able to help customers without having to always go to a manager. Essentially every writer is their own manager until shit hits the fan.Originally posted by greenbullitt View PostDOH! i didnt even know you werent at fsf anymore! what happened?"Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

Haha @ the networking comment. Yeah, the place is building up pretty rapidly. Back in 06/07 when I lived in San Marcos, Buda was basically a field with an HEB grocery store on the side of the HWY.Originally posted by The King View PostCongrats and I'm sure the offer is based at least as much on merit as on nepotism, and isn't nepotism now called "networking" anyway?
Buda seemed to be a fast-growing place from what I saw a year or so ago during frequent trips to San Antonio."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson
