Camp Bowie was in Brownwood, not Brady.

If you know anyone at LM, you can get a tour. The have a history area that is pretty neat.

You are correct, Brady was the site of a WWII German POW Camp.

Pretty cool stuff! Didn't realize there was so much around. He recently gave me a Reader's Digest from 1977 with the article "Enola Gay" and another called "Bomber" that were really good reads so seeing the B29 / B24 would be pretty cool.

Also pretty neat...a couple years back I just missed the bus full of "Band of Brothers" veterans visiting WW2 memorials all over Europe while at the American cemetery in Netherlands. They left a book at one of the character's graves. I forget who though...he wasn't in the movies. I'll have to find the picture. Wrote the name of that book down, found the movies and watched them and was blown away.

Interesting read. It's a shame he was lost in Market Garden, what a carelessly prepared mission.
