All todays weed is the higher quality seeds that have been blended (brought to you by-Thailand, Hawaii, Columbia, Afganistan, etc). It is put under lights for longer sun (not authentic), fertilized by hand with best known ferts and clipped for better budding. What we have done here is take a high quality seed and found a way to flower (bud) the plant quicker. Budded weed is far better than leaves. Once we found out how to grow the premo weed that use to only come from the other countries, exporting from them was all but ceased.

Most weed in the 70's was leaf weed because of the demand. Otherwise it was cultivated too soon in most cases. Full of stems and seeds. Also growing conditions were not always so good. Back then, if there was a field, chances were that weed was growing there. Thus the lack of premo. The average THC content then was less tham 10%. Prolly closer to 5%. But even that isnt very accurate because the testing for THC content wasnt advanced far enough to get correct readings.

It wasnt because there wasnt weed in the 20 and above percentile. Priorty back then didnt require the best of the best. In fact, most smokers didnt realize that there was anything better. But many of us got high quality weed from some of the best cultivating tropics where it grew in its natural habitat, where the flowering was allowed and the buds were thick. One to three hit weed.

I dont know. But the Reggie that is going around now is hit & miss. Sometimes its damn good. But its a crap shoot! It might smell good in the bag & taste like shit. But for $70 a oz its not a bad deal if your broke & cant afford the Dro, I myself would rather spend a $100 on a 1/4 ounce of Dro & smoke a Bowl instead of a J. I do smoke Js. But man they leave you smelling like the Reggie

For what it's worth, a bag of "dirt weed" could be found around Austin for $5 in the early '70's. Primo was $15, but the good stuff then is probably more comparable to run-of-the-mill weed now. The technology just wasn't around.
