You have to cross the solid white line before the red light. If you enter in yellow, then you are good.

If the light turns red and you cross the line, nailed.

Our Traffic Control Technicians (TCT) review each red light camera after they are reviewed from the vendor. Wednesday they were working on violations from May 18th and they had 2571 videos to go. They are quite backlogged.

You would be amazed on how many people continue to blow these things.

Front of your vehicle has to break the plane of the intersection after the light is red.

Nobody could ever execute a left turn at a busy intersection without an arrow if this wasn't the case.

BTW, your version is what I always believed and still try to abide by.
What I posted is what I've testified to. Let those other guys say what they want. When a defense attorney makes them look like dumbasses in the stand, they'll change their opinions.

Depending on timing of the light I would say... If you dont come to a complete stop it gets you too. Crowley road going north at the 35 intersection I watched cars get hit all the time. They would stop to make the legal right on red and if they had to brake they would get flashed.. Or not stop long enough or where the light thought they should. That light makes the city a lot of money.

I believe the car has to be completly in the intersection that's what the pause is for before the green to allow time for the intersection to clear I do know Florida is the car must be completly through the intersection when it turns red. So if your rear bumper has not cleared the far side on red you ran it. They did that when they started using red light cameras.

It depends on how the city wants to interpret the law. Most cities are okay as long as you enter the intersection before the light is red. Dallas will give you a ticket if your rear bumper hasn't cleared by the time the light turns red. At least, that is exactly what the Dallas cop told me when he gave my one and only redlight ticket in 2005. The state law is, or was, vague on it when I looked it up.

from what i remember in drivers education(11years ago), your car must be across(or at least partially crossed) the white line before the light turns red. doesn't matter if you are past the actual light hanging in the air
