I hate the FR-S Bumper compared to the BRZ.Originally posted by gav91183 View PostOnly thing I like about the frs is the front bumper. Everything else I like about the Subaru. May go test drive them both next week just to check it out
Agree.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostYup. BRZ is the one to get.

i drove the auto version last week. i was impressed with how quick it shifts with the paddles. it handled really well and felt very stable at high speeds. i work at metroplex toyota and we have one on the lot if you are interested.Originally posted by gav91183 View PostHas anyone drove one of these yet? I've noticed some dealerships starting to get them in and was thinking about going at looking at one. If you have seen/drove them, what are your impressions? I kinda like the way they look and supposedly I've read they handle well.

Don't think AWD will be happening. Discussions have said that it will add too much weight and raise the center of gravity beyond what they want; having the engine as low in the car as possible was one of the main engineering goals for the cars, so I doubt they'll scrap that just for AWD. I think it completely misses the point of what the car is supposed to be anyway: light, tossable, simple.Originally posted by The Geofster View PostWill hold off until either a turbo or awd version is released.
The turbo, on the other hand, seems to be likely and all of the car rags seem to think it will happen at some point.
Also, if you have to have the AWD, the next gen WRX is supposed to borrow heavily from the mechanicals in the BRZ but be on its own dedicated platform, distinct even from the Impreza.

Not my area of expertise, but sounds like it.Originally posted by grove rat View Posti read it has 12.5:1 compression ratio. isn't that too high to just slap a turbo on it?
<-----turbo n00b
That said, anyone who thinks this car needs LS6 levels of power is completely missing the point of the car and I can't imagine why they'd buy it to begin with. Additional power is coming from the factory at some point, but, as James May would say, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow.
